Who are limelight scripts?
Limelight Scripts was set up in 2005 by Jackie Willis who has many years of experience with pantomime and drama groups. After noticing that some of the panto scripts being perused by her own drama group were up to twenty-five years old, she decided to set up Limelight Scripts. You can rest assured that all our *pantomimes will be reviewed and updated on a regular basis in order to keep them fresh and up to date.

*This only applies to titles written by Limelight Scripts, and not to pantomimes by other authors on our list.

Will Limelight Scripts publish my pantomime/play/musical?
Possibly. Limelight Scripts are happy to look at all unsolicited submissions. So if you write pantomimes, plays, musicals, or have anything else you think might interest us, then please get in touch. Like all other publishers, Limelight Scripts will take a percentage of any royalties generated from sales of their clients scripts, but there are no up-front publication charges.

Can I modify the scripts?
Up to a point. Inserting topical jokes and local name places is usually acceptable. But for other alterations to any script you must have the express permission of Limelight Scripts. For that you have to purchase a complete set of scripts and a performance licence. You might like to know that Limelight Scripts offer a *free script tailoring service. If you decide to purchase a script, you can request permission to mark up any cuts/changes you wish to make on the loan copy. Then return the copy to us and we will make all the changes for you before printing off your order. This will save you a lot of time and effort later on. Although most (us included) authors take a very flexible attitude towards production - recognising that a one-size-fits-all approach is not appropriate, particularly for pantomimes and plays for schools. Please be aware that all our material is copyrighted, and using any of the material without the express permission of Limelight Scripts is plagiarism and a breach of copyright. (Breach of copyright is actionable in a court of law)

*This service is only available for scripts written by Limelight Scripts, and not to scripts written by other authors on our list.

Can I read scripts online?
Samples of all our scripts can be read online by clicking on its link on the relevant scripts page. A few of our scripts can be read in their entirety online.

Are the scripts suitable for children?
This site has been rated using the webmasters voluntary SafeSurf rating system. Recent versions of web browsers use this rating in conjunction with the browser's "child suitability" settings, in order to block pages which are unsuitable. Check out SafeSurf for details. In rating our site, we have tended to err on the side of caution. Most of our pantomimes have played to mixed family audiences of all ages. But one should bear in mind that traditional British pantomime generally includes mild innuendo, and a pantomime dame. Which is played by a man protraying a lewd middle-aged woman.)

Loan/review copies
Limelight Scripts offer a low cost library reading service. You can request perusal copies of scripts (maximum of four) and keep them for up to five weeks. Loan copies are for perusal purposes only, and must be returned within the hire period.

Which currencies can I use to buy your scripts?
Limelight Scripts is based in the UK and works in GB Pounds. We can accept cheques in GBP and 'checks' in US Dollars. We can accept other currencies, but we will have to add a surcharge equivalent to GB £10 per transaction to cover for the exchange fee charged by our bank. The cost of your purchase will be converted from the GB pound scale at the exchange rate charged on the day that Limelight Scripts accepts your order. Customers in Canada can purchase Canadian Postal Money Orders from the Post Office in GB Pounds - thus avoiding the transaction fee. Some Irish and Australian banks will also provide cheques in GB Pounds.

Can I pay for my purchase online?
We don't yet have a system in place for online payments, although we hope to have one in place in the near future.

We respect your privacy, and you can rest assured we won't bombard you with spam or give your e-mail address to any third parties.)
